How We Transformed Designs at BBC Gardeners' World Live 2026
BBC Gardeners' World Live 2026 once again proved why it's one of the UK's most inspiring and loved events of the gardening calendar. Held at the NEC Birmingham, for the final time before the show moves to its new home at the Packington Estate Coventry in 2027, this year’s event brought together talented designers, innovative ideas, and thousands of passionate gardeners looking for inspiration to take home.
We're proud to have been part of BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2026 by supporting incredible designs, from the event’s Headline Show Garden to award-winning Showcase Gardens, an APL Avenue Garden and Beautiful Borders.
By supplying our range of high-quality decorative aggregates and landscaping products, we’ve helped bring each designer's vision to life.
In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at the designs we supported and the products behind them. We hope that by the end of this blog, you’ll be inspired to turn your garden into a space worthy of BBC Gardeners’ World Live.
Contributing to the Headline Show Garden: The Garden of Evolution
Seeing visitors queuing outside the entrance to this garden, cameras and smartphones in hand to capture a first-hand snapshot of the design, we knew why this Show Garden was given headline status and awarded Platinum and Best in Show at BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2026.
Created by author and broadcaster Professor Alice Roberts and designed by the multi-award-winning Professor David Stevens, The Garden of Evolution was inspired by the story of human evolution and our deep-rooted connection with the natural world. This Show Garden took visitors on a journey through time and changing landscapes, demonstrating how people and plants have evolved together over 450 million years.
We were delighted to have the opportunity to support The Garden of Evolution, helping to bring this concept to life by supplying our Goldpath® Self-Binding Gravel (0-10mm) to the design.
Chosen for its natural appearance and durable finish, our self-binding gravel was used to create an attractive, accessible pathway that complemented the garden's organic design and helped paint the picture of taking visitors on a journey through time. With its warm golden tones, blended seamlessly with planting and hard landscaping, our product created routes that felt as though they had naturally emerged from the landscape.
Requiring minimal maintenance, our self-binding gravel is an excellent choice for gardens where both aesthetics and practicality are required. When this product is compacted, it forms a firm, stable surface with a beautifully natural finish, making it ideal for meandering paths through planting schemes.
We're incredibly proud to have contributed to an award-winning Show Garden that encouraged visitors to reflect on humanity's relationship with nature. This headline-worthy design demonstrated how thoughtful material choices can enhance both the beauty and functionality of a landscape.

Award-Winning Showcase Gardens We Were Proud to Support
We're incredibly proud to have supported four award-winning Showcase Gardens at BBC Gardeners' World Live 2026, supplying a range of decorative aggregates and landscaping products to help bring each designer's vision to life.
Here's a closer look at the outstanding Showcase Gardens we were delighted to support and how our products helped transform each space.
Greenhouse Noir
Greenhouse Noir embraced dramatic contrasts, showcasing how darker materials can create gardens with exceptional elegance and atmosphere. Combining deep foliage, architectural planting and striking structural elements allowed this design to become a wonderfully sophisticated contemporary space.
Winning Platinum, Best Showcase Garden and Best Construction Landscaper at BBC Gardeners’ World Live, we were proud to see our Black Basalt Gravel 6mm featured in this award-winning design.
The rich charcoal-black colouring of our Black Basalt Gravel provided the perfect backdrop for the vibrant foliage and colourful blooms used for this project by designer Matt Bettison. Our fine gravel created clean, defined surfaces while enhancing the garden's bold aesthetic.
Using dark aggregates in this way highlighted how simple material choices can elevate planting schemes, allowing colours and textures to stand out with even greater impact.

Think of all Things Pink
Designed by the talented Samantha Stringer, the Think of all Things Pink celebrated the incredible diversity of pink-toned planting. The use of colour in this silver medal-winning Showcase Garden influenced created a vibrant and uplifting outdoor space.
We were delighted to complement the planting palette by supplying our Yorkshire Cream Gravel 10mm to this design. Its soft cream and buff tones provided a bright, neutral surface that reflects light beautifully while allowing the pink flowers and foliage to become the true stars of the garden.
The subtle warmth of the gravel truly created a fresh, welcoming atmosphere and demonstrates how lighter aggregates can unify colourful planting schemes without overwhelming them.

The Folklorians Garden
Inspired by storytelling, folklore and the magic of the natural world, The Folklorians Garden created a timeless and immersive Showcase Garden. With a seating area designed to bring the Gardener’s World community together, encouraging exploration and reflection. Visitors who frequented the space were transformed away from the NEC Birmingham to the world created by The Folklorians Garden.
Combining rich planting with natural textures that evoked ancient woodland paths and hidden clearings, this design by Kate Patrick was awarded a gold medal in the Showcase Garden category.
We were given the opportunity to complement this enchanting design by supplying our Goldpath® Self-Binding Gravel (0-10mm). Described by Kate as resembling a Bischoff biscuit crumb, our self-binding gravel created a firm, natural-looking surface that matched perfectly with the design's cobbled path.
The warm golden tones of our Goldpath blended effortlessly with the surrounding planting and provided a practical, low-maintenance finish. We’re proud to have helped create a pathway that felt as though it had always belonged within the garden, inviting visitors to slow down and discover every detail of Kate’s magical design.

Dark Side of the Bloom
The silver-medal-winning Dark Side of the Bloom Showcase Garden explored the beauty of contrast, combining dramatic planting with bold hard landscaping to create a garden full of depth, texture and intrigue.
Inspired by designer Anthony Massie’s love for Rock music, we helped bring this striking design to life by supplying these complementary products:
- Core Edge 65mm created crisp, professional edging to clearly define the space.
- Black Basalt Gravel 20mm provided bold texture and dramatic contrast throughout the garden.
- Charcoal Slate Rockery added sculptural interest, height and natural character to the award-winning design.
Together, these materials created a strong visual structure while supporting the garden's rich planting scheme. Combining the dark stone and architectural planting demonstrated how carefully selected landscaping products can completely transform an outdoor space.

Shaping the APL Avenue Garden: Sanctuary for a Changing World
Designed by TJ Kennedy Design Landscapes, the Sanctuary for a Changing World focuses on the enduring relationship between people and their gardens, creating a space that is both beautiful and practical.
Thoughtfully designed to symbolise the connection between humans and nature, this space was rightfully awarded gold in the APL Avenue Gardens category,
We were excited to help bring this heartwarming design to life by supplying our Cotswold Chippings 4-10mm and Gravel Grid system.
The warm, natural tones of the Cotswold Chippings were featured prominently within the design, creating a bright and welcoming surface that complemented the garden's planting while adding texture and definition throughout the space.
Beneath the gravel, the Gravel Grid was an unsung hero, providing essential stability, helping to prevent migration and rutting while creating a durable, permeable surface capable of withstanding the large volumes of footfall the garden welcomed from visitors over the four-day event.
Together, these products delivered an attractive, low-maintenance finish that perfectly balanced practicality with visual appeal. Our mark on this garden demonstrated how the right landscaping materials can help create outdoor spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful.

Supporting the Beautiful Borders at BBC Gardeners’ World Live
Alongside the spectacular APL, Showcase and Show Gardens, we were also proud to support several of the Beautiful Borders at BBC Gardeners' World Live 2026.
While these gardens may be more compact in size, they're certainly packed with purposeful creativity. These designs demonstrate how thoughtful planting and carefully selected landscaping materials can make a big impact in even the smallest outdoor spaces.
Let’s explore the Beautiful Borders we were delighted to support.
Once upon a Time… in my Grandad's Garden there were Hedgehogs, Frogs and Fuchsias Hot and Cold
This nostalgic border was centred around celebrating childhood memories and the wildlife-friendly gardens that inspire generations of gardeners. Full of character and natural charm, the design evoked treasured moments spent exploring family gardens.
We helped enhance the space by supplying our White Pebbles 20-40mm and White Pebbles 15-25mm. Their bright, clean appearance created striking focal points while providing beautiful contrast against colourful planting. Our pebbles really helped illuminate the border and draw the eye towards its carefully crafted details in Richard Guy’s silver-medal-winning design.

Threads of Life
Jan O'Brien’s Threads of Life explored the connections between people, nature and the stories woven through our gardens. Rich textures and layered planting created a Beautiful Border that encouraged visitors to pause and reflect.
We supplied Golden Gravel 10mm, adding warmth and natural texture to the design, alongside Groundtex Polypropylene Weed Membrane, helping to provide a stable, low-maintenance foundation beneath the gravel.
Together, these products created practical, attractive surfaces that complemented the garden's intricate planting scheme, helping it win BBC Gardener’s World Live’s Best Interpreted Theme 2026 and Platinum in the Beautiful Borders category.

Through a Child's Eyes

We supplied our Trent Pea Gravel 6mm to give this WRAGS Beautiful Border a soft, subtle natural colouring while providing a gentle, child-friendly finish. The gravel complemented the playful planting scheme, adding texture and practicality to the silver-medal-winning design.

A Message in Bloom
A Message in Bloom WRAGS Beautiful Border, designed by Sarah Elsley, used flowers and planting to communicate themes of hope, connection and positivity. The vibrant border demonstrated how carefully chosen materials can enhance both colour and structure.
We supplied Cotswold Chippings 4-10mm to give this border a warm cream and honey tone that provided an elegant backdrop for the planting. The decorative gravel reflected light beautifully, helping to brighten the display while creating a clean, finished appearance that won Silver-Merit at BBC Gardener’s World Live 2026.

Once upon a Time… A Brush Became a Spade
This imaginative border celebrated creative journeys and unexpected paths into gardening, showing how passion can blossom into a lifelong love of plants and outdoor spaces. Designed by former painter and decorator turned gardener, Tom Brett, this WRAGS Beautiful Border won gold at this year's event.
We complemented Tom’s award-winning design by supplying our Golden Gravel 14mm. Its warm, natural colouring provided excellent contrast against foliage and flowers while introducing texture and definition throughout the border.
