Our Welsh Slate Plum Slate chippings 40mm are a perfect addition to any landscape with their attractive shades of purple, blue and indigo particularly when wet. As a fish friendly product it is perfect for water features and ponds but it is also ideal for borders and landscaping projects. Our photographs show the product wet and dry. We also stock smaller Plum Slate Chippings 20mm and larger Plum Slate Paddlestones 50-100mm. You can combine the Plum with one of our other colour slates that are available in smaller and larger sizes to create a contrasting feature. Please see our sizing info. PLEASE NOTE: Our Plum Slate products are a TRUE Welsh Slate material which may differ in colour to plum slates purchased from other retailers who may source their stone from elsewhere. If you are attempting to match slate colours, please order a sample before your main purchase.
Currently, our Plum and Blue Slate products may have some similar colour tones due to the quarry seam that is being mined at present
Delivery information
We aim to deliver all orders within 2-3 working days from receipt of order (Most orders placed before 1pm will be delivered in 2 working days).
Any Next Day deliveries need to be placed before 1pm Monday to Thursday.
Next Day deliveries placed on a Friday before 1pm will be delivered the following Monday excluding Bank Holidays - then the delivery will be on the Tuesday)

Plum Slate chippings 20mm is a natural Welsh slate plum / blue coloured product that is ideal for garden borders and rockeries and as a fish friendly product they are perfect for water features and fish ponds especially as the colours really come out when wet. Plum Slate Paddlestones 50-100mm are larger than our other slate chippings and are tumbled for a smoother surface and more rounded edges. As a fish friendly product they are very popular for water features and ponds but are also ideal for rockeries, borders and decorative landscaping. Our photographs show the product wet and dry. We also offer Plum Slate 20mm and Plum 40mm Chippings that have more angular edges as an alternative or complementary addition. Our Slate Paddlestones are also available in Blue, Green, and Charcoal. Charcoal Slate Chippings 40mm
Charcoal Slate 40mm, also known as Black Slate, is an attractive chunky grey stone that appears almost black when wet for a contemporary finish. Charcoal slate has increased in popularity and uses include borders, raised beds, and rockeries and as it is a fish friendly product it can also be used for ornamental water features, ponds and aquatics. We also offer Blue, Plum & Green Slate colours as an alternative or complementary addition. The actual size is 30-50mm. Green Slate Chippings 40mm
Green Slate Chippings 40mm are a larger alternative to the 20mm that are ideal for decorative borders and other landscaping projects where a chunkier look is required. A versatile stone with a natural subtle green colour that darkens when wet it will blend well with any garden environment. As a fish friendly product it is ideal for water features and fish ponds. Generally the 40mm size is unsuitable for a drive or path with our 20mm Green Slate Chippings being a better option as they lay flatter. The 40mm is a popular decorative ground covering stone and excellent weed suppressant with a more attractive look than a bark or mulch alternative. Please see our sizing info. Large Slate Paddlestones
Our attractive Large Slate Paddlestones, also known as Celtic Paddlestones, are predominantly blue with some pieces of green and plum slate that are tumbled for a smoother surface and rounded edges. Uses include paving, stepping stones, gabion baskets, walling, rockeries and borders and as a fish friendly product they are also ideal for water features and fish ponds. The size of the pieces is 150-300mmm with some smaller angular pieces possible - please see sizing info.
