Create a distinctive, modern look with our premium Black Ice® Gravel and Chippings, 14–20mm. These washed, angular stones feature an eye-catching blend of black basalt and light blue-grey stones that deepen in colour when wet, giving your landscape a dynamic, contemporary finish. Ideal for driveways (especially when paired with a gravel grid and membrane), garden paths, rockery features, decorative borders, raised flower beds, or even as a striking aggregate topping for pondless waterfalls, Black Ice® gravel and chippings add style and versatility to any setting.

Pieces range from 14 to 20mm, with the majority being closer to 20mm. Please allow for some size variance. The mix consists of black basalt and blue-grey marble, creating a contrast that appears vivid in wet conditions and softer and paler when dry. The angular shape of each stone helps it stay firmly in place and makes it suitable for areas which are frequently used. Note that, as a natural product, and even though the product is washed in production, the gravel may arrive with a light layer of dust; washing a small section with a hose or watering can will reveal its true colour and quality. Please be aware that Black Ice®, due to its marble content, is not suitable for use in fish ponds.

The gravel shifts in appearance: In dry conditions, the stones offer a soft blend of dusty greys and deep charcoals that create an elegant, understated backdrop. When wet, their colours dramatically deepen to rich jet blacks and vibrant blue-greys, producing a particularly stunning effect in sunlight or near water features.

Their naturally angular shape means they stay in place and provide lasting stability for your projects.
