Green Slate Chippings 40mm are a larger alternative to the 20mm that are ideal for decorative borders and other landscaping projects where a chunkier look is required. A versatile stone with a natural subtle green colour that darkens when wet it will blend well with any garden environment. As a fish friendly product it is ideal for water features and fish ponds. Generally the 40mm size is unsuitable for a drive or path with our 20mm Green Slate Chippings being a better option as they lay flatter. The 40mm is a popular decorative ground covering stone and excellent weed suppressant with a more attractive look than a bark or mulch alternative. Please see our sizing info. Any Next Day deliveries need to be placed before 1pm Monday to Thursday.
Next Day deliveries placed on a Friday before 1pm will be delivered the following Monday excluding Bank Holidays - then the delivery will be on the Tuesday)

These Welsh Slate 40mm Blue Slate Chippings are a popular decorative aggregate that are ideal for garden borders, decorative rockeries, fish ponds and ornamental water features especially as the blue colouring deepens dramatically when wet. PLEASE NOTE: Our Blue Slate products are a TRUE Welsh Slate material which may differ in colour to blue slates purchased from other retailers who may source their stone from elsewhere. If you are attempting to match slate colours, please order a sample before your main purchase. Currently, our Blue and Plum Slate products may have some similar colour tones due to the quarry seam that is being mined at present. Please see our images for the colour difference wet and dry. Our 40mm Charcoal Slate, also known as Black Slate, is an attractive pale grey colour that darkens to near black when wet, perfect for a contemporary garden water feature or as a fish pond gravel. Featuring a chunky profile, charcoal slate has increased in popularity and is used for lawn borders, raised beds and garden rockeries. Green Slate Rockery
These beautiful angular hand-picked pieces of Green Slate Rockery are a subtle green colour that darkens when wet with occasional brownish red faced pieces. With flat surfaces and angular edges they are ideal for rockeries, raised beds, walling or as gabion basket filler and as a fish friendly material they can also be used for water features and ponds. Each piece width is sized approx. 250mm but as a naturally quarried product it can vary in size, shape and colour. Available in tonne crates containing approx. 70 pieces and half crates of approx. 35 pieces.
