Oyster pebbles are made using marine flint that has been tumbled to form rounded, irregular pieces.
Ideal for creating the likes of coastal gardens, rockeries, borders and water features, oyster pebbles make an instant impact wherever they are placed.
When dry, oyster pebbles have a pale oyster and cream base with natural colour variations. However, these colours intensify when wet to create a richer look.
Long lasting and low maintenance, our oyster pebbles can be purchased in 10mm-40mm variations, offering plenty of flexibility to suit all project requirements.
Shop oyster pebbles here at Stone Warehouse and get UK-wide delivery on your order.
Our photographs show the product wet and dry. The actual size of the product is 20-40mm and as a naturally quarried stone there can be variation in shape, size, and colour - please see our sizing info. For a smaller size please see 10mm and 20mm.

How To Use Beach Shingle Decorative Gravel (Oyster Pebbles)
Size dependent, decorative gravel (also known as beach shingle) can be used to adorn borders, pathways, rockeries and water features.
On each product listing, we’ve included details about the usage suitability to guide you.
Once you have the correct product for your usage intention, it’s simple to create an impactful transformation in your garden using decorative gravel.
You’ll then need to clear the area by removing weeds, roots and other debris before laying a weed membrane to prevent weeds from growing through your gravel.
Before you get to laying the gravel, also consider using edging products to contain the pebbles and prevent gravel spread. This will keep your designer looking beautiful for even longer!

What Are Some Good Low Maintenance Gravel Colours?
Oyster pebbles are a good call when you’re in search of gravel colours that won’t discolour or show dirt easily.

Beyond this, consider the size of the pebbles. Adding a mixture of sizes helps create a functional habitat for both fish and plants. In particular, pebbles provide surfaces where beneficial bacteria can grow in a pond and also provide a shelter for wildlife.
Finally, remember that pebbles also create an aesthetically pleasing look to your pond! So consider the types of pebble colours and tones you’d prefer to see in your garden when making your selection.

Other things to look out for include:
- The size of the beach pebbles (this will depend on what you want to use your pebbles for)

- Whether UK delivery is included

How Can I Create A Beach Garden?
Start by measuring your garden to determine how you will plan your design and also to calculate the volume of materials you’ll need.
By their very nature, beach gardens feature a lot of sand! But you can also choose to keep the sand in specific sections for practicality, such as creating a walkway or a patio for entertaining elsewhere.
Once you’ve mapped out your design on paper, you’ll need some materials.
Oyster pebbles can certainly work for a beach garden, especially to mimic the pebbles you would naturally find around a coastline.
However, you’ll also require other materials including sand, shingles, rocks and boulders to fill out your design.
We also love: Schist Palisades to mimic the look of driftwood.
Once your materials arrive, you can enjoy the fun part of arranging everything to create your dream beach garden.
How To Achieve A Pebble Coastal Garden Design
Since many beaches in the UK have pebble beaches, you can also create a coastal garden that doesn’t feature sand at all.
Using our oyster pebbles is a great place to start, as the various sizes we offer can be used for landscaping and water features.
In particular, oyster pebbles use a blend of pale coloured stones which provide the foundation for your design. Spread them over pathways, garden beds or around plants. You can also combine different pebble sizes for a natural shoreline effect.

On our website, you’ll also find a range of other products to achieve a coastal look. This includes larger rocks to create a statement piece.
Elsewhere, we suggest adding driftwood, coastal plants and accent features such as rope edging or anchors for the authentic nautical look.
