Scottish Cobbles & Pebbles: An Overview
Scottish cobbles and pebbles are natural granite stones that are traditionally found along the river beds and coastlines of Scotland. Our Scottish stones are Caledonian stones which is another name for the Scottish Highlands.
The visual characteristics of these stones are smooth and round, which is the result of tumbling that occurs during the production process which replicates those found in nature which have been tumbled in rivers etc. This process gives the cobbles and pebbles an extremely alluring appearance, making Scottish pebbles and cobbles as visually stunning as they are purposeful.
Typical colours to expect in any batch include a mix of earthy tones such as greys, browns, creams and reds. When wet, the colour of these stones also become more pronounced offering an ever-changing landscape to enjoy all year round.
Popular usage ideas for Scottish pebbles and cobbles include landscaping features such as paths, borders of driveways, rockeries, water features and other decorative ideas. Larger cobbles can also be used to fill gabion baskets.
Overall, Scottish cobbles and pebbles provide an extremely practical and durable landscaping material for your project.

Scottish Pebbles 14mm - 20mm
As noted above, our Scottish cobbles and pebbles are available in various size gradings.
Starting with our smallest sized batch of Scottish pebbles and these are sized approximately between 14mm and 20mm. Our 14mm to 20mm Scottish Pebbles can be ordered anywhere from a 200g sample bag up to 50 bags weighing 1,000kgs.
This smallest grading is ideal to be used for borders of driveways, paths, decorative borders, plant pot topping, rockeries, landscaping schemes, water features, ponds and aquatics.
We recommend that any gravel, aggregate or pebbles above 30mm is difficult to walk on and can displace due to their rounded shape. So if you do wish to use Scottish pebbles for any functional ground surfaces, then 14-20mm would be the ideal size grading to opt for.
