Blue Slate Chippings 40mm
Applications: Decorative borders, raised beds and ornametal rockeries, landscaping projects, water features, fish ponds and other aquatics
Actual Sizing: Graded 30-50mm with some variance likely due to the nature of the stone
Colour: Shades of bluish purple that appear grey when dry and unwashed. Some in colour is variance likely and there may also be occasional colour inclusions

PLEASE NOTE: Our Blue Slate products are a TRUE Welsh Slate material which may differ in colour to blue slates purchased from other retailers who may source their stone from elsewhere. If you are attempting to match slate colours, please order a sample before your main purchase.
Currently, our Blue and Plum Slate products may have some similar colour tones due to the quarry seam that is being mined at present
Delivery information
We aim to deliver all orders within 2-3 working days from receipt of order (Most orders placed before 1pm will be delivered in 2 working days).
Any Next Day deliveries need to be placed before 1pm Monday to Thursday.
Next Day deliveries placed on a Friday before 1pm will be delivered the following Monday excluding Bank Holidays - then the delivery will be on the Tuesday)

Blue Slate Paddlestones
Blue Slate Paddlestones 50-100mm are tumbled to produce a smooth finish with more rounded edges and they are widely used as decoration around fish ponds or in water features and fountains. They are also popular for stone rockeries, raised beds and garden borders and can create an attractive contrast with another of our slate colours Green Paddlestones, Plum Paddlestones or Charcoal Slate Paddlestones. Large Slate Paddlestones
Our attractive Large Slate Paddlestones, also known as Celtic Paddlestones, are predominantly blue with some pieces of green and plum slate that are tumbled for a smoother surface and rounded edges. Uses include paving, stepping stones, gabion baskets, walling, rockeries and borders and as a fish friendly product they are also ideal for water features and fish ponds. The size of the pieces is 150-300mmm with some smaller angular pieces possible - please see sizing info. Plum Slate Chippings 40mm
Our Welsh Slate Plum Slate chippings 40mm are a perfect addition to any landscape with their attractive shades of purple, blue and indigo particularly when wet. As a fish friendly product it is perfect for water features and ponds but it is also ideal for borders and landscaping projects. Our photographs show the product wet and dry. We also stock smaller Plum Slate Chippings 20mm and larger Plum Slate Paddlestones 50-100mm. You can combine the Plum with one of our other colour slates that are available in smaller and larger sizes to create a contrasting feature. Please see our sizing info. Green Slate Chippings 40mm
Green Slate Chippings 40mm are a larger alternative to the 20mm that are ideal for decorative borders and other landscaping projects where a chunkier look is required. A versatile stone with a natural subtle green colour that darkens when wet it will blend well with any garden environment. As a fish friendly product it is ideal for water features and fish ponds. Generally the 40mm size is unsuitable for a drive or path with our 20mm Green Slate Chippings being a better option as they lay flatter. The 40mm is a popular decorative ground covering stone and excellent weed suppressant with a more attractive look than a bark or mulch alternative. Please see our sizing info.
