Charcoal Slate Chippings 20mm
An alternative size to our 40mm Charcoal Slate, the 20mm chippings are a charcoal grey colour that darkens to near black when wet and are sized 5-30mm - please see our sizing info. Also known as Black Slate, it is perfect for creating a contemporary design and is popular for garden borders, raised beds and rockeries. As a fish friendly stone it can also be used for aquatics, fish ponds and decorative water features. Charcoal Slate Chippings 20mm
Applications: Decorative landscaping projects, garden borders, raised beds, rockeries, pathways, ornamental water features, fish ponds and aquatics
Actual Sizing: Graded 5-30mm, with variance likely due to the nature of the material
Colour: Grey in colour darkening to almost black when wet, with occasional white/rust coloured inclusions

PLEASE NOTE: Our Charcoal Slate products are a TRUE Welsh Slate material which may differ in colour to grey slates purchased from other retailers who may source their stone from elsewhere. If you are attempting to match slate colours, please order a sample before your main purchase.
Delivery information
We aim to deliver all orders within 2-3 working days from receipt of order (Most orders placed before 1pm will be delivered in 2 working days).
Any Next Day deliveries need to be placed before 1pm Monday to Thursday.
Next Day deliveries placed on a Friday before 1pm will be delivered the following Monday excluding Bank Holidays - then the delivery will be on the Tuesday)

Green Slate Chippings 20mm
Green Slate chippings 20mm are a natural subtle green colour that blends well into any garden environment. Uses include decorative features, borders, paths and rockeries but as a fish friendly product it can also be used in water features and ponds. Green slate tends to be chunkier than our plum, charcoal and blue slate and as with all slates it looks beautiful when wet. The pictures show the product wet and dry. The actual size of the product is between 5–30mm which is a good size for paths as it tends to bed together better than the larger 40mm Green Slate to form a flatter walking surface. Also referred to as Welsh Slate with a blue/grey/plum colour that darkens when wet, they are suitable for garden borders, landscaping projects, and perfect for pathways where a flatter finish is required. Charcoal Slate Rockery
Also known as Black Slate or Graphite Grey Slate, this attractive Charcoal Slate Rockery stone has become a popular choice with landscapers and gardeners. The flat, angular pieces can be used in rockeries, decorative walling and gabion baskets and as a fish friendly product it can also be used in water features, ponds and aquatics. It is grey in colour when dry and almost black when wet. A full crate contains approx. 70 pieces and a half crate approx. 35 pieces of irregular shaped stones sized around 250mm width.
