Our natural recycled Blue Slate Chippings 20mm are one of our most popular decorative aggregates. Also referred to as Welsh Slate with a blue/grey/plum colour that darkens when wet, they are suitable for garden borders, landscaping projects, and perfect for pathways where a flatter finish is required. As a fish friendly product it can also be used in water features, ponds and aquatics. The photographs show the product wet and dry. Blue Slate Chippings 20mm
Applications: Decorative garden borders, rockeries, foot paths, water features, ponds and aquatics
Actual Sizing: Ranging between 5-30mm
Colour: Appearing near grey when dry, the shades of blue come out when the stone is wet and may include purple and plum tones as a natural colour variance along with occasional colour inclusions
Shape: Flat, angular, irregular pieces

PLEASE NOTE: Our Blue Slate products are a TRUE Welsh Slate material which may differ in colour to blue slates purchased from other retailers who may source their stone from elsewhere. If you are attempting to match slate colours, please order a sample before your main purchase.
Currently, our Blue and Plum Slate products may have some similar colour tones due to the quarry seam that is being mined at present
Delivery information
We aim to deliver all orders within 2-3 working days from receipt of order (Most orders placed before 1pm will be delivered in 2 working days).
Any Next Day deliveries need to be placed before 1pm Monday to Thursday.
Next Day deliveries placed on a Friday before 1pm will be delivered the following Monday excluding Bank Holidays - then the delivery will be on the Tuesday)

Blue Slate Paddlestones
Blue Slate Paddlestones 50-100mm are tumbled to produce a smooth finish with more rounded edges and they are widely used as decoration around fish ponds or in water features and fountains. They are also popular for stone rockeries, raised beds and garden borders and can create an attractive contrast with another of our slate colours Green Paddlestones, Plum Paddlestones or Charcoal Slate Paddlestones. Large Slate Paddlestones
Our attractive Large Slate Paddlestones, also known as Celtic Paddlestones, are predominantly blue with some pieces of green and plum slate that are tumbled for a smoother surface and rounded edges. Uses include paving, stepping stones, gabion baskets, walling, rockeries and borders and as a fish friendly product they are also ideal for water features and fish ponds. The size of the pieces is 150-300mmm with some smaller angular pieces possible - please see sizing info. Green Slate Chippings 20mm
Green Slate chippings 20mm are a natural subtle green colour that blends well into any garden environment. Uses include decorative features, borders, paths and rockeries but as a fish friendly product it can also be used in water features and ponds. Green slate tends to be chunkier than our plum, charcoal and blue slate and as with all slates it looks beautiful when wet. The pictures show the product wet and dry. The actual size of the product is between 5–30mm which is a good size for paths as it tends to bed together better than the larger 40mm Green Slate to form a flatter walking surface. Plum Slate Chippings 20mm
Plum Slate chippings 20mm is a natural Welsh slate plum / blue coloured product that is ideal for garden borders and rockeries and as a fish friendly product they are perfect for water features and fish ponds especially as the colours really come out when wet. They can also be used for paths and this size beds together well with a flatter more comfortable walking surface when compared with larger sizes. Our photographs show the product wet and dry. The actual size is 5–30mm and once laid the smaller pieces will form a mulch bed with the larger pieces on show.
